Lesson 9 - Why you can’t fly blind
I know how it goes. I’ve been in the project vortex before. Many creative companies are juggling too much. You’re finishing up post-production on one project, you’re shooting another one tomorrow, and you’re in the middle of pre-production on a third project.
It’s too much.
Then, out of the blue, another client asks to get on a call about a potential project. Oof.
At this point, most creative companies reach their limit.
They drop the ball. They don’t respond to the potential client, or they push the call weeks back, or they set it and don’t show up, or they stay up late the night before putting together a custom deck for this new client (when they really should be finishing work for their current clients).
This is where your capabilities deck comes in.
Ideally, your capabilities deck will be so dialed-in, that all you’ll have to do is make a copy, add the client’s logo, and do five minutes of research about them before you jump on a discovery call. It should be non-disruptive to the daily operations of your business.
“But how do I know what to say on the call?”
