Discipline Is Like Checking The Mail

Discipline is like checking the mail. There might not be a letter for you today, but there might be. It’s worth checking.

When we build a creative project (or work out, or clean, or study), there may not be results every day. But showing up every day is the only way to find out.

I’m notorious for forgetting to check the mail. I’ll find letters and bills and checks from weeks prior whenever I check it.

When we don’t show up to be disciplined each day, we’re leaving checks in the mail. We might still find the results later, but it’ll be weeks before we do. Or months, or years.

Go check the mail, then take a crack at your creative project today. Do the same thing tomorrow, and the next day.

Good luck out there.
