Happy Easter

On Sundays, I often write about the importance of rest. Rest has been seminal in the sustainability of my career. Working as a contractor and a freelancer has been tough, but carving out time each week to enjoy my life has helped me stay grounded.

Today is Easter Sunday, a day that people of Christian faith around the world celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. If you’ve digested a good amount of my content, you may have deduced that I am a person of Christian faith. Today, I’m celebrating.

I often find and share research on the importance of rest, and the examples are plentiful. But I was first introduced to this idea through the Jewish and Christian tradition of Sabbath. Sabbath is a spiritual discipline in which people take a day off each week. There are many interpretations of how to go about it, but the way I try to practice it is by not creating or working on Sundays–only enjoying what has already been created.

There isn’t much social reward for being a person of faith in America anymore, especially in the business and content space. I also don’t like to share too much about my personal life on this blog. But I would be remiss if I didn’t let you know that Jesus changed my life, through practices like Sabbath, and a thousand other ways. I live life as a fully forgiven and loved person now.

If you want to hear more about this faith, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I’d love to tell you how it’s changed my life.

Thanks for indulging me. Now, back to your regularly scheduled programming of marketing, productivity, and creative advice. I’m really grateful for all my readers.
