If you think your work is bad…

Your mind will only allow you to create bad work for so long. Either it will force you to quit, or it will force you to make the work better.

I’ve been thinking about this recently: if your work seems bad to you, and you’re committed to the work, that only means a breakthrough is coming. If you know that quitting isn’t an option, and you intend to stick with it, even though you’re not impressed by your work, a breakthrough is on the way.

Recently, I’ve been feeling this way. I’ve been daily blogging for the entire year, and most days I don’t think my writing is very good. This is ironic, because when I think back to 2020 and 2021 when I was blogging every day, I thought most of my blogs were pretty good then. They all excited me. I was pushing into a new level.

It’s ironic because I know for a fact that my writing now is better. I have more interesting ideas, and that I’m more equipped to tell a deeper truth. Yet it still doesn’t feel great.

Since I’m committed to the work, and I know quitting won’t happen, this only means a breakthrough is coming. I say this as an encouragement to myself, and maybe to you. If you’ve been feeling this way recently keep going.
