Limping to the finish line

I set out to publish 365 blogs in 365 days on my website this year. I’m about 7 days away from completing that goal. But for the past month, I’ve been limping to the finish line. I’m having trouble generating ideas and I’m not loving the writing experience. I want to just stop and take the next week off.

However, when I look at what I’ve written in the past month, I’m glad I wrote it. I engaged with interesting ideas. I laid bricks for future pieces. I delivered value to people who want it.

What’s funny about pain is that you only feel it in the moment. Looking back, you can try to remember how it felt and make better choices. But you don’t feel the pain like you did when you were going through it.

So, since I made this promise to myself, and to my readers, I’ll finish out the rest of the year. It might not be as fun as I want it to be, but I know it’ll be worth it. Some idea I write about in the next week will end up in a future article, book, or video, and I’ll be glad I did it.
