Audience curiosity is not enough

With social content, relying on audience curiosity is not enough. The easy way to write a hook is to pull some confusing line from the middle of your script, and hope your audience will be curious enough to find out what it means.

In regular environments, this might work. But social media platforms are an attention battleground. You can’t rely on curiosity to garner engagement. You need to capture attention and turn heads.

All of your competitors on social media are tapping into survival instincts, they’re selling with sex, they’re using loss frames. Saying “hi guys—here’s something you didn’t know about our product” won’t make you go viral. You need to try harder than that.
