Everyone’s website is a work in progress

If you’ve been in the creative industry long enough, you know this. You know that portfolios are always growing, changing, and angling toward a specific focus.

I say this to let you know that your inexperience is showing when you apologize for your website. Your insecurity comes through. The pros have more work to update on their site than you do—yet they don’t apologize for it.

I’ve seen basic websites succeed in displaying work and driving outreach. I’ve seen fancy website fail at the same thing. Do your best, send it out, don’t apologize, and update it a little more next month.
