You have every key you need
In a recent blog, Seth Godin said, “It could be that your keyboard has all the letters needed to allow you to type the book you have inside you.”
This is a big reason why I love writing. Every creative ambition will encounter resistance. Often, the resistance disguises itself as “no access to gear” or “not a big enough budget” or “no one to collaborate with.” But the accessibility of writing shows us the resistance was always inside us. It was our fear, our ego that kept us from writing.
Look at your keyboard. Every letter is there. Every letter works. You have everything you need to write what you want to write. It’s not a retreat or a cabin or a mentor that will bring it out of you. It’s your own courage and conviction.
P.S. I just remembered that, ironically, the cover of my first book features an image of a keyboard that doesn’t have every letter on it. Do you have a copy yet?
